Rinaldo Santos and Marcos Flexa were training and competition partners in the 80’s and 90’s, always representing the Carlson Gracie Copacabana Academy. We are looking forward to this great day that Rinaldo Santos will be in Amsterdam showing a little bit of the half guard that dominated training at the time.

Professor Rinaldo Santos is a 6th Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is one of the highest ranked Black Belts in Central Florida. His BJJ lineage is traced directly to the Gracie family: Mitsuyo Maeda > Carlos Gracie Sr. > Carlson Gracie Sr..

Professor Rinaldo is a former BJJ World Champion and Vale Tudo Fighter (No Holds Barred MMA) . He is also one of the most respected BJJ Referees in the sport of BJJ. Professor Rinaldo has over two decades of experience teaching adults and kids and still teaches the majority of the classes at the Carlson Gracie Central Florida Academy.

Carlson Gracie Jr Coming to Amsterdam to do a great seminar and Graduating Head Coach Marcos Flexa to 6th degree black belt.

There will be 2 seminars on Sunday 22nd of May. Max 22 PP.

Reservations can be made with online payments and so you guarantee your place, it is also possible to pay cash at the door.

First seminar from 11:00 to 13:30 and then open mat. The Second Seminar from 15:00 to 17:30.
All teams are welcome and the seminar is open to everyone!
Cancellations are possible online up to 24 hours before the start.

BJJ Kids Class.

BJJ AMSTERDAM KIDS CLASS.

Jiu Jitsu is a great and fun way to get your child active while learning physical, social and self-awareness skills that will stay with them for the rest of their life. Physically we challenge your child to try and learn new movements and get comfortable and self-secure performing them. Our classes will always be in groups and most exercises will be in pairs, communication and social interaction will therefore be high. Children will learn about their own and their teammates boundaries and learn to respect and value them. We aim at creating a friendly and safe atmosphere where our students not only learn about jiu jitsu, but also develop discipline, respect and humility.
Currently we have two age groups:
– Age 5-10: In this class we focus on basic and fundamental movements and techniques combined with games that introduce children to things as sparring and drilling. The focus is getting comfortable with the movements and techniques while having fun.
– Age 10+: In this class we focus on developing solid fundamentals and techniques. Apart from the fundamentals we will dive more into details and complicated techniques and sequences. We end every class with a sparring session, to try and learn adapting isolated taught techniques and sequences into flued continues movement.

On the 3/11/2018 it took place the – Amsterdam International Open IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship-. Carlson Gracie team participated with 47 athletes of diverse categories and had an overwhelming victory by winning the 1st place in the tournament.

In each combat it was clear the smashing and pressure style that is typical from our grand Master. “Tempo ruim o tempo todo.”

We would like to thank all participants and students who train very hard to keep developing the arte suave.
